Farmers’ Market at Lendplatz

One of the city’s many charming farmers’ markets

When the farmers come to town, there’s tasty fare to be had. One of the city’s many charming farmers’ markets nestles on the right bank of the Mur  at Lendplatz market. With an impressive 800 urban farmers, Graz has the most market days in all of Europe. Instead of traders, farmers themselves proffer their delicious wares. Any shopper will delight in packing their bags full of crusty farmhouse loaves, cured ham or smoked sausage, fish, fruit juice, freshly cut flowers, fruit and vegetables.

Good to know

The market takes place at Lendplatz in Graz’s vibrant Lend district. It is within easy walking distance of Graz’s Old Town and the Graz Art Museum (Kunsthaus Graz), making it a perfect stop during a stroll along the River Mur.

The Farmers’ Market at Lendplatz is open Monday to Saturday from 6 am to 1 pm. The market is closed on Sundays and public holidays, although many cafés and restaurants around Lendplatz are also open on Sundays. For the best selection of products, a morning visit is recommended.

The market is much more than a place to shop. Many locals meet here for breakfast or coffee at the cafés and restaurants surrounding the square. The combination of regional products, urban flair and Styrian culinary culture makes Lendplatz a popular gathering place for food lovers and visitors alike.

The market offers fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, Styrian pumpkin seed oil, plants, flowers and many other regional products. The goods come directly from farms across Styria and reflect the culinary diversity of the region.
