Declaration of accessibility
Graz Tourismus & Stadtmarketing GmbH
Graz Tourismus & Stadtmarketing GmbH endeavors to make its websites accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Barrier-Free Access to Websites and Mobile Applications of the Federal Government (Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz – WZG) BGBl. I. Nr. 59/2019 idgF as amended.
This accessibility statement applies to www.graztourismus.at.
Status of Compliance with the Requirements
This website is largely compliant with Conformance Level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1" and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03), in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
Beyond the legal requirements, Graz Tourismus & Stadtmarketing GmbH also places great importance on ensuring that its digital products are accessible.
Below you will find information on non-compliances and exceptions in relation to Conformance Level AA of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines and the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03).
Non-accessible Content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
Non-compliance with accessibility regulations
Unlabeled table cells (table headers): Some complex tables contain content-filled cells that lack corresponding headers. This affects WCAG criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
Incorrect heading hierarchy on some pages: The correct order of heading levels is not consistently maintained. This affects WCAG criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
Missing visible or machine-readable headings in content blocks: Some pages include content blocks (e.g., in the so-called "Title Block") that do not contain visible or machine-readable headings. This affects WCAG criteria 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and 2.4.6 Headings and Labels.
Empty header cells in some tables: Some table header cells contain no text. This affects WCAG criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
Disproportionate burden
Limited keyboard access in scrollable cookie banner area: The cookie banner (provided by Cookiebot) includes a scrollable area that is not fully operable via keyboard. This affects WCAG criterion 2.1.1 Keyboard.
Since this is a third-party embedded element that cannot be modified internally, implementing an accessible version would currently require a disproportionate effort.
Some PDF documents are not accessible: Retrofitting these documents would involve a disproportionate effort. Upon request, we will gladly provide the content from these documents in an accessible format.
Creation of this Accessibility Statement
This statement was created on June 26, 2025.
It is based on an evaluation carried out by external experts.
To determine accessibility, the following steps were taken:
The audit, conducted between January 19, 2025, and February 27, 2025, focused on a thorough and detailed review of selected representative page types. These pages are indicative of the overall website and allow conclusions to be drawn about its overall accessibility.
During the audit, testers conducted a comprehensive analysis of all WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines. Due to its importance, the AAA guideline WCAG 2.2 3.1.5 Reading Level was also assessed.
Manual and tool-based testing methods were used to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the website's accessibility.
The primary browser used for testing was Google Chrome.
The decision to conduct tests on desktop, mobile devices, or both was made depending on the relevance and applicability of each WCAG 2.2 AA guideline.
PDFs and third-party content were excluded from the audit.
Between May 12, 2025, and June 27, 2025, the measures defined during the audit were implemented.
