"Graz is green gold"

Graz tips from travel blogger Dan Clarke I Dan Flying Solo

"I’ve been lucky enough to travel to half the world’s countries, but this perfectly-sized city packed with welcoming people, good-doing sustainable and social initiatives, and a gorgeous old town has held a special place in my heart since my first visit.

Every time I’ve travelled here since I’ve always thought ‘I bet this is an incredible place to live’ and so when there was an opportunity for an extended slow-travel stay I jumped at it. And Graz, as expected, excelled.

Graz is where a city break can actually feel like a holiday, friendly conversation is always around the corner, and much more than solely its swoon-worthy UNESCO central district. I leave even more in love with Graz and the local region than when I arrived, my camera and heart filled with two months of memories I’ll treasure forever.

Do yourself a favour and spend some time meandering between the courtyards, hiking the city’s hills and striking up conversation wherever possible and I promise, you’ll fall as hard for this kind, clean, happy city as much as I have."
