There are several options for getting up the hill in the middle of town (with the Schlossberg funicular or the Schlossberglift) – a lovely and idyllic experience is doing it on foot. From time immemorial, wine was cultivated by the Herberstein family on the southern slope of the castle hill. The garden named after the family was opened to the public in 1930. Today they are called “The hanging gardens”. Numerous benches invite visitors to linger and surely everyone loves this romantic spot with its view over Graz. With restaurants and bars included, leaving no wish unfulfilled .. eg Restaurant Schlossberg, Starcke Haus, aiola upstairs
