Details

Along the Danube, the heart of Europe, many musical works have their origins. Our journey takes us from Vienna, where Mozart and Korngold created their masterpieces, to Budapest, where Lehár took his first steps.
Our Danube steamboat voyage concludes with Bartók’s masterful Concerto for Orchestra, which builds a musical bridge between Hungary and America – the work was premiered in the USA. Look forward – beyond the world-famous waltz – to both well-known pieces and rare gems from along the Danube.

Programme:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Overture to Le nozze di Figaro
Béla Bartók – Concerto for Orchestra, Sz. 116, BB 123
Arias and ensembles by W. A. Mozart, E. W. Korngold and Franz Lehár
