Climb Schlossberg hill...

View of the gardens at the Schlossberg

with the Schlossbergbahn Funicular

The Schlossbergbahn funicular takes you up the castle hill of Graz in comfort and in just a few minutes. With a 60% gradient and glass roof, the funicular offers fantastic views of the historic centre of Graz.
It runs up Schlossberg hill every ¼ hour; more frequently if necessary.
You can get to the base station via tram services 4 and 5 ("Schlossbergbahn" stop) or park your car in the short-term parking zone along the River Mur. Here parking is subject to charge in the "Blaue Zone" (blue zone). You can obtain pay-and-display tickets from the vending machines.
A one-way trip on the Schlossberg costs € 2.50 for adults. Special fares and reductions exist. All Graz Linien public transport tickets for zone 1 are also valid on the Schlossbergbahn. Schlossbergbahn fare summary

Operating hours:

Monday to  Sunday: 10.00 a.m - 06.00 p.m.

with the Schlossberg Lift

A faster way of getting up the Schlossberg is a ride on the Schlossberglift. Its glass cabins offer an appealingly weird, illuminated view of the hill’s interior. After barely a minute it reaches the landmark of Graz, the clock tower with a fantastic view of the city and on towards the south of Styria.
The entrance from Schlossbergplatz square is shared by the lift, the Graz Fairytale Train and the ‘Dom im Berg’, a very special kind of event venue.
A ride on the Schlossberglift costs € 1.90 for adults, € 1.40 reduced rate. Graz Linien public transport tickets are not valid here.
Tram services 3 and 5 bring you directly to Schlossbergplatz square ("Schlossbergplatz / Murinsel" stop). By car, best park in the surrounding short-term parking zone or in the multi-storey parking nearby.

Operating hours: Mon - Sun 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m.

on foot
