Swan Lake I Orpheum Graz
‘Swan Lake’ embodies everything that defines classical ballet: elegance, grace and, above all, perfection in dance.
A classical production by the International Ballet Company Italia, featuring set designs of incredible realism, dazzling costumes, props crafted with meticulous detail and a series of enchanting melodies, all combine to form this great masterpiece of classical ballet. The collaboration between the composer Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky and the choreographer Marius Petipa was one of the happiest coincidences in the history of ballet. The fairy-tale story of *Swan Lake*, featuring the enchanted Princess Odette, ranks among the great, timeless classics of ballet.
Star soloists, a marvellous cast of world-class ballet dancers, and above all a combination of impeccable acting and virtuoso technical performance await you in this masterpiece.
It is the fairy tale of a prince who falls in love with Odette, who has been transformed into a white swan by the sorcerer Rothbart. And this love is put to the test: Lyrical and tragic, festive and intimate moments, set against the atmospheric backdrop of the ‘white scenes’ by the lake, contrasted with the magnificent and colourful costumes at the royal court, promise a varied and festive evening of great classical ballet.
A beautiful, romantic story that touches the soul.
