Details

For decades, the festival has presented high-quality productions and projects from all areas of contemporary art. The programme focuses on the interplay between music, performance, visual arts, literature and new media.

The 59th edition of the festival is titled "Red Flags". In the world of dating, this term serves as an early warning system; at the same time, it acts as a red flag for any deviation from prescribed ideological lines. Where caution becomes the norm, open discourse is avoided. steirischer herbst ’26 counters this trend, addressing the pressing issues of our time. From September 24 to October 18, audiences in Graz and Styria can look forward to moving performances, stimulating discussions, and an exhibition — hosted in a vacant inn — that reveals how global conflicts encroach upon the private sphere. As always, the program includes the "festivals-within-the-festival" ORF musikprotokoll and Out of Joint, alongside an extensive program of events organized by local partner institutions.

Tickets for Red Flags performances and the *herbstkabarett* are available at the herbstcafé (Griesplatz 34, 8020 Graz) and via the website: steirischerherbst.at/tickets
