Graz Tourismus - Mias Photoart
Details
In Graz, Advent is regarded as the ‘fifth season’, during which the whole city dresses up to present itself to its guests in the most beautiful and varied way possible. The richly decorated shopping streets and squares are a particularly striking example of just how atmospheric Graz is at Christmas time.
At the heart of the Christmas illuminations in Herrengasse are moving images that depict the provincial capital’s landmarks and attractions whilst telling stories. On the illuminated canvases, flurries of snow and shooting stars compete to see which can sparkle the brightest.
The following illuminated spots in Graz city centre are perfect as photo points:
- Love Graz (Schmiedgasse/Hauptplatz)
- Snow globe (Schlossbergplatz)
- Christmas Tree (Karmeliterplatz)
- Saint Nicholas (Nikolaiplatz)
- Light Clock Tower (Advent at Eisernen Tor)
- Styrian Heart (Advent at Eisernen Tor)
- Life-size nativity scene (Priests' Seminary, from 9 am to 5 pm)
- Snowman in the inner courtyard of the Priests' Seminary
- Nutcracker & FärBÄR - the polar bear from Färberplatz (Färberplatz)
