East Styrian Roman Wine Trail
Vineyards, orchards, pumpkin fields and sweeping views across the rolling hills of Eastern Styria: The East Styrian Roman Wine Trail leads from Gleisdorf to Bad Waltersdorf, showcasing the varied landscapes of the region along the way.
The route begins at the main square in Gleisdorf and leads via Hohenberg and Gamling towards Pischelsdorf. It then continues through Romatschachen, Siegersdorf and St. Johann bei Herberstein towards Stubenberg am See. Around Schönegg and Schönauberg, it is well worth taking in the scenery, with beautiful views across the hills of Eastern Styria.
Via Flattendorf and Löffelbach, the Roman Wine Trail continues past the foot of the Ringkogel to Hartberg. Some of the region’s highest vineyards can be found here. From Hartberg, the route continues via Habersdorf, Schölbing, Mitterberg, St. Magdalena, Rohrbach and Wagerberg before reaching its final destination at the Heiltherme Bad Waltersdorf thermal spa.
Along the way, vineyards, pumpkin fields and orchards shape the scenery – a varied route for anyone looking to combine wine, culinary delights and the landscapes of Eastern Styria.
