Dom im Berg
The Dom im Berg was built in 1999 and 2000 according to the concept and guiding idea of the artist Richard Kriesch as a multifunctional high-tech exhibition and event centre.
An underground space of 733 squaremetres and a height of eleven metres was created, which is embedded in the tunnel system of the Schlossberg. It was opened on the occasion of the Styrian State Exhibition ‘comm2000graz’, and it was one of the main venues for ‘Graz – European Capital of Culture’ in 2003. Since then, concerts, congresses, theatre, festivals and clubbing events have taken advantage of the special location in the heart of the city and deep in the rock. The Dom im Berg has made a name for itself as a unique venue for culture and events.
