Kick-off at Viertel 4: Sunshine, Drinks & the FIFA World Cup

If you would rather not watch the FIFA World Cup at home in front of the TV during the summer heat, make your way to Viertel 4. The summer lounge in the Joanneum Quarter will be screening selected World Cup evening matches live in good weather (kick-off between 6 pm and 9 pm local time), as well as Austria’s early-morning national team match during a special breakfast event (kick-off at 6 am local time).

Guests can enjoy classic drinks, signature cocktails and authentic Italian pizza in what is arguably the city’s coolest open-air location.

The World Cup programme at Viertel 4 begins on Thursday, 11 June, with the match between Mexico and South Africa, kicking off at 9 pm. It will also be the first game that fans and football enthusiasts can enjoy live at Viertel 4 in a relaxed outdoor atmosphere.

Throughout the tournament, most matches kicking off at 6 pm, 7 pm, 8 pm and 9 pm Austrian time will be shown live, including both semi-finals and the grand final on 19 July at 9:00 pm.

A special highlight will be the live screening of Austria’s match against Jordan on 17 June, kicking off at 6 am Austrian time. Fans can enjoy the game over a relaxed breakfast – complete with sunrise views.

Before and after the match screenings, guests can enjoy live performances and DJ sets, a hallmark of the Viertel 4 experience. In addition to cold beer and a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, head bartender Kate Schröder serves creative signature drinks, while AMORE LOUI offers authentic Neapolitan pizza.

In good weather, Viertel 4 is regularly open from Tuesday to Saturday from 4:00 pm and on the first Sunday of each month from 12:00 noon. During the World Cup, the summer lounge will also open on Sundays and Mondays whenever matches are being broadcast.
