“Text im Klang” returns for its 7th edition in 2026. Since its beginnings, the project has acted as a laboratory for medial interlacings, with literary texts and the exchange between composer and author serving as impulses for new compositions. Rather than setting words to music, the texts become a movens through rhythm, syntax, timbre, atmosphere and semantic density.
As in previous editions, the Schallfeld Ensemble is involved from the start and works closely with the composers. In 2026, the project focuses on Friederike Mayröcker, one of the Grandes Dames of Austrian literature, five years after her death. Klaus Kastberger accompanies the process and gives an introduction at the premiere.
The event takes place at Florentinersaal at Palais Meran (University of Music and Performing Arts Graz).
