Curió Curió – Album launch concert with Luiza Monteiro and Dustin Braun
Named after a colourful Brazilian songbird, Curió Curió comprises the Austria-based singer, songwriter and actress Luiza Monteiro and the producer and musician Dustin Braun from Germany. Together, the duo breathes new life into MPB and gives it a fresh twist by drawing on influences from 1970s Brazil and blending them into a modern fusion of psychedelic, MPB, disco and samba.
In the band’s own words: “Curió Curió isn’t purely disco, isn’t purely samba, isn’t strictly old-school, but is inspired by all of these – and thus creates something contemporary that is nonetheless nostalgic.”
