The South Styrian Wine Road

Perhaps the best-known wine road in South Styria - the South Styrian Wine Road - connects charming little towns and villages, and leaves an emotionally-charged impression that is hard to erase. From Ehrenhausen to Platsch and Berghausen, the Wine Road takes visitors to some remarkable places and some unforgettable culinary hotspots.

The picturesque landscape is characterised by well-maintained vineyards, vibrant forests and flowery meadows sweeping the length and breadth of South Styria, up and over the hills. From Ratsch you can get to Gamlitz, to the Sulztal or to Leutschach an der Weinstraße. Again and again you will come across magnificent wine-growing estates, renowned restaurants and traditional Buschenschänken (wine taverns) dotted along the route; warm, inviting places that beckon you inside to rest and reenergise. Sitting on the terraces, with their panoramic views, looking out at the scenery and looking in on yourself, for the briefest of moments you will forget everything around you and feel cocooned in a tranquil world of relaxation and indulgence.
