Southeast Styrian Hill Country Wine Trail

The Southeast Styrian Hill Country Wine Trail begins in Frutten-Gießelsdorf on the Klöch Wine Trail. Following the L 256 westwards, it leads into the Rosenberg winegrowing area, which benefits from a favourable climate and location. Between the vineyards of Neusetz and Hof, views open up towards Straden’s church hill.

At the Klapotetz in Straden, the route heads downhill to Wieden, where the Klausen vineyard lies on the right. Passing steep vineyard slopes, it continues through Nägelsdorf to Hofstätten and over Hofstättner Berg to Khünegg. Alongside the vineyards of Oberberg, you reach Perbersdorf, where you turn onto the road to Bierbaum.

At the Frauensäule monument, continue straight ahead up Bierbaumberg. The Wine Trail then follows the ridge southwards for several kilometres via Steinriegel, Perbersdorf and Kalvarienberg. Vineyards line the route, while sweeping views extend towards the Koralpe mountains and Slovenia. From Kalvarienberg, you join the road to St. Peter am Ottersbach.

The Southeast Styrian Hill Country Wine Trail ends in the town centre. This is also the starting point for the three St. Peter wine hiking trails, which invite you to explore the surroundings on foot. Take time for short breaks along the way and enjoy the views across the gently rolling hills.
