Peaceful walking paths, shady forest trails and the idyllic lake combine with a wide range of leisure activities, making this area an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation, families and outdoor enthusiasts.

Around Hilmteich, pleasant paths invite you to enjoy a leisurely stroll or simply relax by the water. Details

Leech Forest is the largest continuous woodland in eastern Graz. Well-maintained trails wind through the shady mixed forest and are perfect for hiking, jogging or simply unwinding in nature. At the same time, the forest provides an important habitat for numerous animal and plant species and is a wonderful example of how closely nature and urban life are connected in Graz.

Thanks to tram line 1, Hilmteich and Leech Forest are easy to reach by public transport and can be perfectly combined with a visit to the Botanical Garden or an urban hiking tour.

When winter temperatures are low enough and the ice is thick enough, locals of all ages gather here to enjoy what is undoubtedly the city's most romantic natural ice-skating rink.
