The “Thomawirt” inn in Graz combines centuries-old pub culture with modern gastronomy. Its origins date back to the year 987, when the “Thomawirt” was first mentioned in historical records. It operated as a pub for many centuries before the venue was reopened in 2006 on Leonhardstraße in Graz.
Today, the Thomawirt presents itself as a versatile meeting place, combining a café, restaurant and bar under one roof. Spread over several floors, it offers an ambience that blends tradition with contemporary design, inviting guests to linger. Culinary-wise, the venue focuses on a fusion of Styrian home-style cooking and modern influences.
The Thomawirt reopened under new management in April 2026. Since then, the venue has continued its role as a popular meeting place in Graz’s university district and aims to combine tried-and-tested traditions with fresh ideas.
