Small island, great ideas. In 2003, New York artist Vito Acconci anchored this extraordinary piece of architecture in the Mur river - an island right in the middle of the city. It serves as both a platform and a bridge. This spectacular structure is now a central meeting point, a hotspot, and a showcase for Graz’s creative scene. 

However, the Murinsel is also increasingly a cultural event venue. The program ranges from a diverse outdoor summer cinema and theatre performances to various music acts, readings, and fashion shows.
