The Nutcracker – Austrian Youth Ballet
Tchaikovsky's magical Christmas ballet for the whole family in Graz
The Austrian Youth Ballet, together with students from the Fachakademie für Ballett und Tanz, presents the beloved Christmas classic “The Nutcracker” by P. I. Tchaikovsky. Choreographed by Ekaterina Christou-Lewin, this enchanting adaptation showcases the talents of the young dancers – from the tiniest mice to the Sugar Plum Fairy.
The story follows Clara, who receives a nutcracker as a Christmas present. In her dreams, the wooden figure comes to life, battles the Mouse King and eventually transforms into a prince. Together, they travel to the magical kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fairy, where a magnificent celebration awaits Clara.
Beautiful costumes, expressive dancing and Tchaikovsky's unforgettable music – including the famous Waltz of the Flowers – make this performance a delightful experience during the Advent season in Graz.
