He stole from the rich to give to the poor. Whether or not the stories about the legendary robber and benefactor Robin Hood are made up or true, the message is quite clear: in Sherwood Forest things are shared out fairly. Erich Wolfgang Korngold wrote one of his best film scores for the famous Hollywood classic, and this is the music to which Karl Markovics reads excerpts from the exciting ballads about Robin, Maid Marian, Friar Tuck, and that nasty character the Sheriff of Nottingham.
