Advent at the Opera
The air is filled with the scent of punch and sweet baked apples. Just around the next corner, you catch a last glimpse of Father Christmas’s red-and-white coat and the feather-soft wings of the Christkind disappearing from view, while from behind the auditorium doors you can hear a choir of a thousand little angels singing …
Oh no – it is the audience of Oper Graz singing! This year once again, singers from the ensemble, the Singschul’ of Oper Graz and the Graz Philharmonic will enchant people of all ages. At “Advent at the Opera”, visitors can not only enjoy melodies by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Engelbert Humperdinck and John Rutter, but are also warmly invited to sing along at the top of their voices and take part in a varied hands-on accompanying programme.
In addition to Advent carol singing followed by Christmas jazz at Café Stolz, there will be no limits to creativity when decorating gingerbread. OperAktiv! will also once again offer an exciting participatory programme.
