SKAPPA'NABANDA! Urban Brass Festival June 5–7, 2026 Graz
It’s going to be loud, quirky—and thrilling! More than 15 international and local brass bands and percussion ensembles, with a total of over 150 musicians, will gather in the Styrian capital for a musical exchange. The popular street concert series “Schnapp die Banda!” will liven up downtown Graz this time with even more groups—agility and a competitive spirit are required if you want to catch all the acts... A Brass Walk through Graz, accompanied by artists, dancers, and clowns, followed by a jam session in the Augarten, as well as a concert evening featuring the grand finale performance by the Skappa’nabanda! Orchestra—comprising all participating bands—are on the program, along with a closing Brass Picnic under the motto “Frühschoppen goes Jammin’” in the Stadtpark.
The hosts, the Graz-based Masala Brass Collective, have been performing as an open brass ensemble on streets, squares, and stages both domestically and abroad since 2007. With their festival, now in its fifth year since 2012, they not only forge musical bonds but also set an example for peaceful coexistence among different cultures and subcultures.
