Details
Saxophonist, clarinettist and composer Hristijan Risteski returns to Tube’s with two special concerts, in which he will present the music from his upcoming debut album, *Waters Dance*.
*Waters Dance* is a contemporary European jazz project shaped by movement, identity and lived experience. Conceived as a musical statement characterised by movement, contrasts and storytelling, the music shifts between calm and intensity, lyrical melodies and a strong rhythmic drive, reflecting a personal and geographical journey through diverse cultures. The compositions are rooted in modern jazz and subtly inspired by the rhythmic heritage of the Balkans, without losing their strong compositional voice.
For the first time, Martin Gjakonovski joins Hristijan Risteski’s Quartet – one of Europe’s most distinctive and influential jazz bassists and a fellow Macedonian of Risteski’s who has lived in Germany for many years. He provides superb rhythm and a special depth, making these concerts a unique and powerful version of the Waters Dance project. Hristijan Risteski – alto saxophone, soprano saxophone, clarinet
Martin Gjakonovski – double bass
Marko Churnchetz – piano
Chris Smith – drums
