The Graz Congress Award honors individuals in the events industry from science, research, business, and non-profit organizations who have shone a spotlight on Graz by organizing innovative conferences and congresses at local, national, and international levels. Through these accolades, Graz expresses its respect and gratitude to those behind these impactful events.
Congress Award Graz Gala 2024
The gala focuses on innovation and sustainability, aligning with the latest standards of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Events. It's not just about gaining knowledge but also providing a space for forward-thinking ideas and creative approaches.
Submission/Application for Conferences
Applying is simple—just submit the necessary documents:

Evaluation Period: January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2023; Submission Deadline: March 22, 2024
All organizers of conferences and events held in Graz in 2022 and 2023 are eligible. Submit your application documents electronically to Graz Convention Bureau (kongress@graztourismus.at) by March 22, 2024.
Selection Process I Jury 2024
An esteemed jury, consisting of five to seven members, annually comes together to recognize the winners of the previous year. With representatives from the four Graz universities and other educational and research organizations, the jury actively nominates the best events in various categories.
Evaluation is based on these criteria:
- International reach of the event
- Scientific significance nationally and/or internationally
- Number of overnight stays and profitability
- Event size and number of participants
- Impact on Graz's image and social standing
- Economic relevance, revenue, and budget
- Regular recurrence of the event
- Innovation, originality, and initiative
- Consideration of sustainability ("Green Meetings") in the organization
