Congress Award Graz
Recognising outstanding contributions to Graz as a congress destination
The Congress Award Graz honours outstanding congresses that make a significant contribution to positioning Graz as a national and international centre of knowledge and science.
Two awards are presented as part of the Congress Award Graz:

The Congress Award Graz is endowed with €10,000 and recognises an outstanding congress.

The Sustainability Award is endowed with €5,000. Only congresses that have been certified as a Green Meeting in accordance with UZ 62 and the Austrian Ecolabel are eligible for this award.
The Sustainability Award therefore specifically recognises congresses that meet the defined criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings.
Graz Congress Award Gala „Taste & Dine“
9 March 2027 | Congress Graz
The Congress Award Graz will be presented as part of the Graz Congress Award Gala “Taste & Dine”. The evening combines congress culture with culinary experiences and provides a special setting for networking, exchange and recognition.
A culinary programme featuring selected partners from Graz and the Graz Region will accompany the evening. Further details on the participating chefs and culinary highlights will be announced in due course.
The event is intended to be organised in accordance with the criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Events.

Submission/Application for Conferences
Applications can be submitted easily via the online submission form by uploading the relevant documents.
Assessment period: 01.01.2026 – 31.12.2026, submission deadline: 10.01.2027
All organisers of congresses and conferences that took place in Graz in 2026 are eligible to participate. Additional application documents can also be sent electronically to the Graz Convention Bureau: kongress@graztourismus.at
Selection Process I Jury 2025
The independent jury of the Congress Award Graz consists of experts from universities, research institutions and science communication. It evaluates all submitted events comprehensively and without fixed categories.

These criteria ensure a comprehensive and fair assessment of all submitted events.
